The New Ink Tank is a 10-month professional development programme for writers. Participants of former programmes have had their work performed at West Yorkshire Playhouse and published in several magazines, such as Mslexia and Route, as well as attracting interest from publishers and agents.
Within the 10-month programme you will have the chance to take your writing further and enjoy the benefit of being part of a network. You will also create your own personal development plan, giving you the freedom to work towards your individual goals. This will continue to develop at each Focus Group meeting.
The course offers participants the opportunity to focus on their writing through a structured programme of monthly peer assessment and focus group meetings, workshops, the masterclass and reading reviews.
All activities are scheduled on weekends and evenings, enabling you to fit the programme into your working life. The Ink Tank is challenging, and you do need to be committed, both to writing, participating in activities and giving peer support to other writers on the network. This is a great opportunity to take your writing to the next level.
The Ink Tank is a well-rounded programme that approaches your development as a writer in three ways:
1) To develop your output in writing through peer assessment and focus group meetings
2) To provide you with guidance on aspects of writing through the workshops and masterclass
3) To consider yourself as a writer in the wider context of other authors and how looking at these works can further develop you through the reading review.
